GCMS notes, also known as Global Case Management System notes, are detailed records of an individual's application with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). They include information about the application, processing steps, officer's comments, and decisions made.

CBSA notes are the documentation produced by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) when processing and inspecting individuals who are entering or leaving Canada. These records encompass details about border crossings, inspections, interviews, and any other interactions that occur between individuals and CBSA officers.

CSIS Notes are records maintained by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) while conducting investigations or intelligence operations. They consist of information collected by CSIS pertaining to matters related to national security.

GCMS or CBSA and CSIS notes include detailed records and information related to immigration, border security, and national security matters.

The processing time for your request for GCMS, CSIS, or CBSA notes may vary. Typically, it takes approximately 30-45 days for the organization responsible for processing these requests to complete them for each customer. However, these timeframes are approximate and subject to change based on factors such as the volume of requests and the complexity of the information being sought.

CBSA uses the same GCMS (Global Case Management System) platform as GCMS, so GCMS notes and CBSA notes look very similar, with the exception that most CBSA notes do not redact security details. The CBSA notes also include all of the information available about your CBSA file. The CSIS notes detail when your file was received and when it was processed, as well as all of the information CSIS has on file for you.
